In conjunction with the 2nd annual LIFE HAPPENS OUTSIDE FESTIVAL Gritty’s is happy to host the “Teens to Trails” Benefit at our Freeport brew pub on August 17th from 4:30 to 7 pm. We’re raising money to create additional High School outings clubs in Maine. Teens To Trails is an outdoor nonprofit organization located in Brunswick, ME, that provides resources, training, programming, and financial assistance to support High School outing clubs. Our goal is to EDUCATE youth, teens and families on how and where to get outside, ENGAGE with our communities to encourage more time spent outdoors and INSPIRE the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts and stewards. Gritty’s is contributing 50¢ from each pint sold to the cause. There will also be other fund raising activities and a lot of fun! It all takes place in Gritty’s backyard (weather permitting). So stop by!

Gritty’s is proud to sponsor the last run this season in the “Triple Crown 5K” series: the Bridge Run on Sunday, August 26 at 8:30 a.m. Register at the Rollodrome, 12 Riverside Drive in Auburn. It’s moderately flat over many bridges including a railroad pedestrian bridge. The race runs along the Androscoggin River and crosses over to both Lewiston and Auburn and goes right by Gritty’s Brew Pub! After the race, runners can hang out at Gritty’s and get their first beer for a buck if they show their bib. http://www.triplecrown5k.com/bridge-run/race-details/
