    In 2005 Gritty’s newest location opened on the banks of the Androscoggin River in Lewiston/Auburn. Our Auburn brew pub is a warm and welcoming space in the classic Gritty style; long tavern tables, copper bar top and traditional brick work. The spacious deck features the best riverfront views in town, and our glass-enclosed, storefront brewery brings the working of a true pub brewery right to Main Street. And of course, our kitchen serves up the finest in traditional pub fare.

    Kick off the Dempsey Challenge at the biggest party of the weekend: “Courage Fest” at Gritty’s Auburn Brew Pub. It all starts Friday evening, Oct 6 when we kick the party into high gear with Cellar Door Winery and Courage Ale Specials. We’ll offer live music and get the place rock’n! Gritty’s, is the place to be Dempsey weekend!

    The Dempsey Courage Ale is on tap at Gritty’s Auburn. 
    This golden pale ale is brewed with Northern Warrior and Goldings hops blended with just the right malts to make a well balanced beer. Coming it at 5% ABV it’s a nice session ale. Have more than one with friends after that run, ride or walk. Gritty’s Auburn Brew Pub is the official brew pub of The Dempsey Challenge!

    We’ll be serving the County Wet Hop Ale at all locations
    . “Wet hop beers” are an original style developed by North American brewers. What distinguishes a wet hop beer from a regular beer is the use of freshly harvested or ‘wet’ hops in the brewing process. Aroostook Hops in Westfield, ME picked ripened Centennial cones right off the vine, and then delivered them to our brewers the next day. The use of “fresh, ‘wet’ hops” imparts amazing and unique fruit aromas and flavors to the beer that you just can’t get from using traditional kiln dried hops. Each beer is considered a ‘one-off’, as there is no way of predicting to what extent the ‘wet’ hops will affect the flavor of each individual brew.  In addition to ‘wet’ Centennial hops, the barley in this beer is grown and malted by Buck Farms in Mapleton, ME, making the County Wet Hop a 100% locally sourced beer!

    HALLOWEEN ALE is back in the pubs too.
    Every fall marks the return of our legendary Halloween Ale – the beer so good, it’s scary! No pumpkins are harmed in the brewing of this beer! This robust brew has a deep amber color, a bold, malty palate and a well-rounded hop finish. Halloween Ale is smooth and creamy with a medium-to-full body. It has a big malty flavor with toasted caramel balanced by ripe pear and faint apple undertones. The hops give it ample bitterness, but the beer finishes a bit sweet. The perfect beer for a crisp autumn day! 6% ABV

    Go Big for Hunger!
    During the month of September Gritty’s is helping to raise money for the “Go Big for Hunger” charity. By adding a line to our guest checks, inviting customers to add $2 or more to the bill, we can all participate in surrounding more kids with the nutritious food they need to learn and thrive. Go Big For Hunger is an all-volunteer effort, 100% of every donation goes directly to supporting frontline feeding of kids and building the network that’s required to sustain the fight against childhood hunger in Maine.
