Auburn Brew Pub

  • Gritty's Auburn Maine Craft BeerA
In 2005 Gritty’s newest location opened on the banks of the Androscoggin River in Lewiston/Auburn. Our Auburn brew pub is a warm and welcoming space in the classic Gritty style; long tavern tables, copper bar top and traditional brick work. The spacious deck features the best riverfront views in town, and our glass-enclosed, storefront brewery brings the working of a true pub brewery right to Main Street. And of course, our kitchen serves up the finest in traditional pub fare.

    Did you say “chocolate”?
The Chocolate Porter is on tap in Auburn this month. This small batch brew is a dark, brownish-black color with a pale tan head.  This ale has a very sweet malty aroma. The taste is a mix of notes of chocolate and coffee. Thanks Jay for brewing it again.

‘TIS THE SEASON FOR CHRISTMAS ALE.  In stores and on tap now at Gritty’s Freeport, on tap at Portland and Auburn late in November.
November heralds the return of our holiday seasonal, Christmas Ale.  It’s a robust E.S.B. (Extra Special Bitter) full of holiday cheer.  It scored 97 by Beer Advocate. Christmas Ale has a lovely, dark red/amber color.  The ale has a chocolaty character followed by an earthy hop flavor with a fruity middle-to-end with hints of melon and pear. We brew our Christmas Ale to an original gravity of 1064 (about 6.2% ABV) which gives it a light warming feature.

Don’t miss the Community Pint Night scheduled on Thursday, Nov. 30th with Brayden Bashaw.
Brayden who just turned 12, started a fundraising effort last year which he has named “Ornaments for Hope.” He collects pinecones, spray paints them, adds ribbons and some twine and then sells them for $2/each. With the money he raises he used to purchase Christmas gifts for the kids at The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital. Last year he was able to raise $2,000. This year Brayden’s goal is $5,000. With this money he would like to purchase 1 or 2 Brady Buggies (these are specialty wagons that are used in the hospital which allow kids to get around even with their IV poles).
