Get your summer job at Gritty’s before it’s too late! Gritty’s Portland and Freeport are hiring! The Portland pub is seeking experienced line cooks for their busy kitchen, and Freeport is looking for both front- and back-of-house employees (i.e. servers, cooks & more), retail associates and bussers. PORTLAND:

Help us celebrate National Drinking Water Week in Portland from May 5-11. Come visit Gritty’s Portland to learn about how water affects us in our lives between drinking water, forests and perhaps best of all…BEER! Dozens of local breweries rely on the water in Sebago Lake here in Maine. Beer is 90% water; delicious beer begins with outstanding water. We’re collaborating with Portland Water District, Sebago Clean Waters and Loon Echo Land Trust to provide beautiful slideshows and information throughout the week about water treatment & protection and how it affects beer, forests and drinking water.

Gritty’s will be served at the fifth annual Streets, Eats and Beats Food Truck Festival on Saturday, June 1! Portland’s favorite food truck and music event on Thompson’s Point is from noon to 5pm. Enjoy eats from local and visiting food trucks and drink cold Gritty’s beer and Tito’s handmake vodka while listening to live music and enjoying some lawn games! Go Big for Hunger! This month, Gritty’s is teaming up with local charity Go Big For Hunger to combat hunger in the State of Maine. When you’ve finished paying your tab, add a few extra dollars right at the bottom of your receipt to help fight food insecurity right here in Maine. Then, join is for a Community Pint Night on Thursday, May 23 at 5:30pm at our Portland pub, where 50ٴ¢ from each pint sold goes to the cause, and the Band Beyond Description caps off the night at 9:30pm! This is a great charity & it benefits folks in our community where it counts the most: right at their dinner table.

The 90s are making an epic return to Gritty’s with Hello Newman! On Saturday, May 18, come rock with us at our Portland pub for a killer live show featuring songs from bands like Blink 182, Sublime, Reel Big Fish, Third Eye Blind and more! Music goes from 9:34pm-12:30. No cover!

Wanna help protect freedom of health? On Thursday, May 30 from 5:30pm-9:30pm, join us at Gritty’s Portland for a complimentary & alternative healthcare gathering and fundraiser! This Community Pint Night will support the Safe Harbor LD364 bill, and to do so, we’ll have a 50/50 raffle, silent auction with items from practitioners and supporters, and of course 50¢ from each pint sold goes to the cause! AUBURN:

It’s time for another night of PRIDE! Don’t miss the Pride L/A Community Pint Night on Thursday, May 16 from 5:30pm – 9:30pm at Gritty’s in Auburn! Come support one of L/A’s most active non-profit groups. Plenty of fun and 50¢ from each pint will go to the cause.

May the FOURTH (and the Gritty’s) be with you! Gritty’s Auburn will be the host of the epic Great Falls Comic Expo after party, and we’re bringing our lightsabers! Swing by the pub after the expo at 6pm for killer food, killer beer and killer door prizes! Costumes are encouraged, especially Star Wars. No tickets, no cover, just be 21+! See all you Jedis (and evil Sith scum) at the pub!!

Help your local schools! On Thursday, May 9 from 5:30pm-9:30pm, Gritty’s Auburn will be hosting a fundraising Community Pint Night with the Park Avenue Elementary PTO to support the school! The PTO will also have a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction, and Gritty’s will donate 50¢ from each pint sold to the cause. Come join us for this amazing cause!

Put your about drinking water knowledge to the test in Auburn on Trivia Night! May 6-12 is National Drinking Water Week, and to celebrate, we’ll be incorporating questions about water while you drink the very thing water makes – beer! We’ll also have a table of information available to learn more about Auburn’s watershed. Come quiz your mind on water over a few pints of Gritty’s ale!

FREEPORT:

Play an epic game of cornhole to support Durham Youth Baseball on Saturday, June 1, at 11am in Freeport! First place prize is $300;  second place is $150. $40 per two-person team. Double elimination method following ACO rules/ACO cancellation scoring method. Sign up online at DurhamBaseball.com. DYB is currently in the process of planning and developing a baseball field complex on Swamp Road in Durham; proceeds from this event help support this project.

Support the Greater Portland Relay for Life with a Community Pint Night! Join Gritty’s Freeport and the American Cancer Society Relay for Life from 5:30pm-9:30pm. We’ll have a 50/50 raffle, and 50¢ from each pint sold goes to the ACSRL. Come have some drinks for an amazing cause!
