Auburn Brew Pub

Gritty's Auburn Brew Pub Restaurant
Gritty’s Auburn Brew Pub Restaurant

In 2005 Gritty’s opened on the banks of the Androscoggin River in Lewiston/Auburn. Our Auburn brew pub is a warm and welcoming space in the classic Gritty style; long tavern tables, copper bar top and traditional brick work. The spacious deck features the best riverfront views in town, and our glass-enclosed, storefront brewery brings the working of a true pub brewery right to Main Street. And of course, our kitchen serves up the finest in traditional pub fare.
Gritty’s Auburn Brew Pub is a convenient stop on your way to four-season fun in Maine’s mountains and lake regions. We’re very proud to be a part of the revitalized waterfront in this historic community. Real Ale has returned to Central Maine!

Did you say “chocolate”?  Jay’s Chocolate Porter is on tap in Auburn this month. This small batch brew is a dark, brownish-black color with a pale tan head.  This ale has a very sweet malty aroma. The taste is a mix of notes of chocolate and coffee. Thanks Jay for brewing it again.
Jay is brewing an amazing stout in Auburn that will go on tap later in November.
It’s being hopped with Goldings Leaf then finished with Galaxy hops. This strong stout will come in around 6.5% ABV and will be served on nitro making it fountain into a creamy smooth pint!
On tap now at Gritty’s Freeport, going on tap at Auburn in mid-late in November.
November heralds the return of our holiday seasonal, Christmas Ale.  It’s a robust E.S.B. (Extra Special Bitter) full of holiday cheer.  It scored 97 by Beer Advocate. Christmas Ale has a lovely, dark red/amber color.  The ale has a chocolaty character followed by an earthy hop flavor with a fruity middle-to-end with hints of melon and pear. We brew our Christmas Ale to an original gravity of 1064 (about 6.2% ABV) which gives it a light warming feature.

They’re striking back and with your help, they can make a difference!  An Angel’s Wing will be in Gritty’s Auburn raising funds by doing 50/50 raffle, doing some fun trivia and selling baked goods. Come support this important local group from 5:30 to 9:30pm. Gritty’s is donating 50¢ from the pints sold.

    Ready for Black “Flyday”?
While everybody else is shopping till they drop, you can be snug and warm at the Gritty’s of your choice celebrating “Black Flyday” on Friday, November 23.  Black Fly Stout and Christmas Ale will be on special. Why go shopping when you can drink?
Don’t miss the Community Pint Night scheduled on Thursday, Nov. 29th with Brayden Bashaw at Gritty’s in Auburn.
Brayden is a 7th grader, who 3 years ago created a fundraising effort called “Ornaments for Hope.” This year Brayden’s goal is to raise $8,000.  $7,000 of the proceeds will go to Make-A-Wish® Maine (this is the average cash cost of a wish) and all remaining donations will go towards purchasing Christmas gifts for the kids at the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital. Buy a couple of hand-crafted ornaments and/or bid on some auction items to help Brayden achieve his goal!
