Gritty’s will be at the Maine Brewers’ Guild Summer Session. This is the biggest brewfest in Maine and your best chance to try Maine’s best beers. Summer Session is the only brewfest run by and in support of the Maine craft beer industry – we know what beer fans love, and we want to share our love of beer with you while creating the perfect festival environment. So come join us in the vast expanse of Thompson’s Point waterfront venue in Portland – outdoors and under the sun for our annual Maine Brewers’ Guild Festival – Summer Session 2018 on Saturday July 28th, from 1-5PM, with a VIP session starting at NOON.
Gritty’s to be featured at Maine’s Micro Brew MTB Festival
“We’re at it again and all for the love of biking and beer,” said Back Country Excursions Operations Leader, Cliff Krolick. “We’re very happy to team-up with one of Maine’s most respected craft breweries to offer our customers an amazing weekend. Gritty’s was here in the beginning and we’re happy to have them back on our 27th anniversary and their 30th anniversary.”
Things get underway Friday at noon and don’t stop until late Sunday. By day, Back Country Excursions will offer guided small group rides for all levels. By night, they light the bonfires, ROCK to the live folk music played by local Singer Songwriters: Friday night Joel Cage an original rocker singer songwriter with 40 years of aged musical genius playing the circuit. Saturday night Davey O an up and coming singer songwriter with an unmistakable mesmerizing sound. Participants can expect the usual meal goodies plus our traditional lobster bake, 3 days- 2 nights, lodging, camping or yurt are also included.

Celebrate summer! Moved from June 24 to Sunday, July 15 because of rain, let’s celebrate the end of the school year and mid- summer with our “School’s Out Blast”! From noon to 4pm Gritty’s Freeport will have free pony rides, a bouncy house, and games set up on the lawn. Tons of fun for the kids – and adults, of course!
- Gritty’s to celebrate the power of positive drinking for 30 years on Saturday, July 21st with an epic keg party on Wharf Street.
It’s our 30th anniversary! We’re going to party inside and outside the pub on Wharf St. in the old port, Portland from noon until closing. We’re setting up a stage, our 17’ long copper-topped bar, eight taps and some grills on Wharf St. While inside the pub, we expect a full house.
- There will be at least 8 different small batch or collaborative beers on tap. Including our rotating IPA and collaborative beers brewed with Allagash, Run of the Mill and Liquid Riot. While supplies last we’ll give away ‘burgers and ‘dogs. FREE live music will include: country music star, Bob Emple from noon to 1pm; followed by the local band, Desperate Avikados between 2 and 4pm. Then OC and the Off Beats take the stage from 5 to 7pm. At 8pm Portland area favorite, King Memphis will wrap-up the music in-style on the Wharf St stage.
But wait, there’s more! At 10pm, eighties tribute band The Awesome will play inside the brew pub.
